PCR is polymerase chain reaction. It is used for amplification of DNA. The DNA is amplified with the help of a special enzyme known as Taq DNA polymerase. The invention of PCR has led to its application in major fields like forensic, cloning, medical field like detection of coronavirus by rt PCR.
