Sialolithiasis And Necrotising Sialometaplasia - Faculty of Dental Sciences

Image
Sialolithiasis is a condition in which tiny salivary stones or calculi form in the glands. The stones, called sialoliths, are made of calcium. Some stones block the ducts and saliva flow is partially or completely stopped. The gland might enlarge, and an infection can develop. Necrotizing sialometaplasia (NS) is a rare, benign, self-limiting, necrotizing process involving the minor salivary glands, in most cases the much serous glands of the hard palate. Etiology is thought to be a reaction to trauma or smoking in the presence of existing tissue ischemia and the significance of the condition lies in the fact that it Mimics malignancy both clinically and histologically. Polymerase Chain Reaction - Faculty of Allied Health Sciences

Image
PCR is polymerase chain reaction. It is used for amplification of DNA. The DNA is amplified with the help of a special enzyme known as Taq DNA polymerase. The invention of PCR has led to its application in major fields like forensic, cloning, medical field like detection of coronavirus by rt PCR. Introduction to Artificial Intelligence - Faculty of Engineering

Image
Artificial Intelligence is one of the fascinating and universal fields of Computer science which has a great scope in the future. Questions arise such as “What is intelligence?”, “How can one measure intelligence?” or “How does the brain work?”. All these questions are meaningful when trying to understand artificial intelligence. Artificial Intelligence is a combination of two words Artificial and Intelligence, where Artificial defines "man-made," and intelligence defines "thinking power", AI means "a man-made thinking power". So, AI is defined as: "It is a branch of computer science by which we can create intelligent machines which can behave like a human, think like humans, and able to make decisions. Examples: Siri, Alexa, Tesla, Cogito, Boxever, John Paul, Amazon.com, Netflix, Pandora, Nest, and many more. The AI field draws upon computer science, biology, mathematics, psychology, linguistics, philosophy, neuroscience and etc. Applicatio
